The Silk route

After staring into the dark for hours together, Looking for a meaning into my meaningless life which is filled with sex and drugs and more sex (I may have exaggerated the “sex and more sex” part, there is hardly any sex and there is definitely no drugs, there is hardly enough food ) and the turning point in my life when   I decided to become a Reservoir Engineer (woo hoo) , I have decided to do the silk route

Do the Silk route?
You don’t do the silk route…

Well you do the silk route. The silk route starts from China to the Europe… and that is what I am going to do, Start from China and go till Europe. I will  not do all of this in one go but, slow and steady wins the race.

To give you an idea I will be doing the china part of the silk route.

The plan as of now, go to Beijing, and then travel to Tibet , Tibet was a very important part of the Silk route.

But why the Silk route?

I don’t know, it was a spontaneous thing, I was always romanced by the idea of being a nomad traveller travelling around the world. There are not many placed in the world that I want to go.

to start the list

Cambodia (Agnokr wat)

China ,

Tibet,

Mongolia

Russia

Pretty much the entire europe minus England

 and Alaska

I figured that i can go to England and the US anytime in life. TO do that all I need is a passport and money. But the silk route, you need more than passport and money you need to be mad and “deewana” to do this trip through the three most staunch countries (Russia, China and Mongolia)

If  I do not do this right now I will probably be never able to do this again.

So I need to save me some money and do me some reading.

Also I need to hit the nearest Chinese Embassy and ask them about me going to Tibet and special permission need for that.

Lonely planet tibet should be a good place to start.

I really need to start saving me some money.

Id reckon some  $3000 (ASD)should be enough. Any chinese people want to give me some inputs on this

I want to see then world while I am still youg.

AWACS..India gets one

What does AWACS Stand for ?

Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C)

What is a Awacs??

You know what a radar is…ya in military terms…the dish tv type thigges which track a  aircraft.

So what is a awacs… ?

ya coming to that …when you mount that dish tv type thinggy in a plane it is called a Awacs.

Awacs and Su 30MKI

Awacs and MiG 29

What is the big deal in it?

As the dish tv type thinggs in airborne it increases its range and gives a better coverage on who is flying where

Okay …this is imporant because ?

AWAC systems can detect aircraft from up to 250 mi (400 km) away, well out of range of most surface-to-air missiles.

One AWACS plane flying at 30,000 ft (9,150 m) can cover an area of 120,460 mi (312,000 km). Three of such aircraft in overlapping orbits can cover the whole Central Europe…cool aint it.

AWACS Badge

AWACS Badge

Where do we use it.

Okay … if we fly this flying raptor ..let me say well inside the indian air space (10km to be safe) we can see 390 kms inside china .. what is flying ,how is it flying, and why it is fying.

This is important how ?

Okay now let say there is a air to air combat  going on… in air to air comabat it is very important you see the enemy in your rader first. If you switch on your rader you give away your location to the enemy.. so what do you do…you switch on the awacs and whola…. it will switch on its rader because it is at a safe distace from the enemy,,,, it starts tracking the enemy aircraft and tells you where the enemy is via a satellite link … Now that you know where your enemy is ..you fire a air to air missile and done.

The same can be said about ground targets.A awacs can track air and ground threats.. pretty cool stuff.

Okay cool i got the concept…….so india has it now…how many does india have. ?
Well as of now India has brought one and two more are on the way.
So that makes a total of three….but china is big,,, ??

I know… the plan is to make our own home made using the technology transfer .
we were  making our own Awacs called airavat..but it crashed in 1999 killing all the people on board ..and well it has been on stand still since. sad huh!
None the less the project will be jump started again…i hope

The badge of AWACS

I hope this new bee guide was useful to you :D

Bhramos failure

Well now there is a theory as to why Bhramos failed in the recent trail at pokhran

Now all cruise missiles are supposed to be guided by a GPS system which is normally an American system.

Now the theory states that at the exact time the bhramos was being test fired the US GPS system was shut off
I got a link to that claim

DRDO scientists have launched an investigation into the failure of the BrahMos army version missile, especially why its GPS system couldn’t link onboard computers with hovering satellites eventually crippling its guidance system and keeping it frm achieving mission

http://www.expressbuzz.com/edition/story.aspx?Title=BrahMos+failed+as+US+shut+its+eyes+in+the+sky?&artid=0tbv7GEf5Ak=&SectionID=1ZkF/jmWuSA=&MainSectionID=1ZkF/jmWuSA=&SEO=BrahMos,+US+satellite,+Pokharan&SectionName=X7s7i|xOZ5Y=

Weird coincidence huh

i want to believe it but then…….

Reports: Russian accident sub intended for India

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081110/ap_on_…6HhzjPN83wQr7sF

By VLADIMIR ISACHENKOV, Associated Press Writer

MOSCOW – India’s navy was supposed to lease the brand-new Russian nuclear submarine that suffered an accident over the weekend which killed 20 people, news reports said Monday.

An Indian naval spokesman would not comment Monday on leasing this or any submarine from Russia — but his boss has said previously that India was interested.

The Akula-class sub was undergoing trials in the Sea of Japan when its fire-extinguishing system activated in error, spewing Freon gas that suffocated the victims and injured 21 others.

Russia’s navy said the submarine itself was not damaged in Saturday’s accident and returned to its Pacific coast port Sunday under its own power.

Russia’s top business dailies Kommersant and Vedomosti reported Monday that the Nerpa was to be handed over to India’s navy next year under a 10-year, $650-million lease.

India previously leased a nuclear-powered submarine from the Soviet Union in 1988-1991, and India’s navy chief, Adm. Sureesh Mehta, was quoted as saying that India was negotiating with Moscow to lease two Russian nuclear submarines, the first of which could arrive next year.

Armed with cruise missiles capable of hitting targets 3,000 kilometers (1,860 miles) away, Akula-class subs are considered the quietest and deadliest of Russian attack submarines. A sub of that class could unsettle the military balance of power in Asia, dramatically bolstering India’s navy capability as it jockeys with China for influence over energy supply routes in the Indian Ocean.

Phone calls to China’s defense and foreign ministries seeking comment rang unanswered Monday night.

Vedomosti quoted an unidentified shipping industries official as saying the sub was intended for India’s navy, which has already named it the Chakra.

Indian naval spokesman Cmdr. Nirad Sinha would not confirm whether the Nerpa was to be leased and said no Indians were on board the submarine when the accident occurred.

“It’s a Russian submarine, and any concerns are Russian concerns,” Sinha told The Associated Press.

Indian news reports said Monday the submarine was to join the southern Asian country’s navy in August. The Indian Express newspaper also reported that Indian sailors had been scheduled to head to Russia later this month for on-board training.

Kommersant, meanwhile, quoted an unnamed shipyard official as saying the delivery of the submarine to India, originally set for August 2007, had been postponed twice already.

As investigators tried to determine what activated the firefighting system, Russian naval experts said overcrowding and human errors may have contributed to the accident.

The Nerpa had 208 people aboard when the accident occurred, including 81 seamen, according to the navy. Akula-class subs normally carry a crew of 73.

Retired submarine Capt. Alexander Pokrovsky said in a commentary that sea trials often pose increased safety risks.

Pokrovsky also criticized Freon-based fire-extinguishing systems, saying they are dangerous for the crew and need to be replaced with safer equipment.

Individual breathing kits should have saved the crew, but some former submariners said civilian shipyard workers usually have little experience in using them. Seventeen of those killed in the accident were civilians, the Russian navy said.

“Civilians were supposed to undergo training, but it usually is pretty informal,” said Igor Kurdin, who heads an association of former submariners. He speculated the fire system could have been triggered by something as simple as someone smoking a cigarette near a safety gauge.

Some commentators also speculated there might not have been enough individual breathing kits for all those aboard during the test.
