Indian Air force Move Su30Mki to Tezpur
Currently the India air force operates 4 sukhoi squadrons (1 squadron has 18-20 planes) with the names as Lightning, Rhinos and Hawks.
Iaf is moving 4 su 30Mki supposedly from the Rhino squadron to tezpur to keep a check over china it seems .I guess the recent border skirmish with India and china have a lot to do with it too.
It also plans to move another squadron in chabua distt of assam.
Eventually dot the whole of north east with these beasts it seems
Sukhoi happens to the the most potent weapon in IAF arsenal
IAF has ordered 60 more Su 30MKi from HAL in recent days in view the depleting numbers
A couple of more bases are supposed to be opening up for sukhoi ..rumored as jodhpur and ludhiana.
Mig 21 bisons are to be retired by 2011 and LCA tejas will be replacing them.
As LCA is Indian made it can be made at will and is at disposal.Once fully implemented in the IAF it would be dotted along the Aurnanchal border to prevent any further chinese skirmishes
We also have the MCRA and LCA Mk2 coming up mind you
