Not so long ago I was preparing for an interview for the post of a Reservoir Engineer. Read job description here
I could not find a single page on the web where I could get any proper mock interview questions for this profession. So I decided to make one.
Please read on for mock interview questions.
Answers will be given in the next blog post, All this material has been gathered from books journals and of course the internet
1. What is the difference between primary porosity and secondary porosity?
2. Which rock property is a function of pressure – porosity or pressure?
3. What is the equation for pre volume compressibility?
4. What is the difference between pore volume compressibility, rock compressibility and formation compressibility?
5. Why do we run more than one porosity log in an well?
6. Name two methods of estimating reservoir permeability?
7. When might the measured permeability be an untrue estimate of formation compressibility?
8. What is a primary use of a capillary pressure data?
9. Describe what a capillary drainage process is and provide two examples?
10. For a given capillary pressure curve , is the transition zone height the same for a gas water system and an oil water system? Explain?
The answers will be given in the next blog post.
I will be adding more questions in the near future. So please Ctrl+D this blog
Please feel free to add more questions in the comments section
I will also be putting up some Well Testing questions in the near future.

Hi thanks for the Questions
They have been very helpful. Could you also post the answers asap?
Thanks again.
5. Why do we run more than one porosity log in an well?
TO get a better accurate estimate of the porosity.
One log may not be enough.
6. Name two methods of estimating reservoir permeability?
Core analysis, Well test.
8. What is a primary use of a capillary pressure data?
To deduce if the reservoir is oil wet or a water wet system.
please answer all these questions i have an interview
