LCA Tejas to be inducted with international engines.
According to DRDO officials at the press conference, while the first two squadrons of the IAF equipped with the LCA would fly with GE 404 engines subsequent inductions would be powered by an engine to be procured through an international tender or as part of a JV with a foreign vendor.
Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) director, Dr PS Subramanyam said, “I am confident that DRDO will keep to the December 2010 initial operational clearance (IOC) plan. We have started weapons testing on the LCA, and soon the aircraft will fly with the hi-tech MMR radar (multi-mode radar).”
“Meanwhile, we understand the IAF has tight induction bands and we will get the LCA into those bands. The first two squadrons will fly on GE engines and the next four will fly on any international engine that qualifies our new request for proposals.

The Tejas will have Two sqaudrons by 2010…That is nice to know…..

Well now there is a theory as to why Bhramos failed in the recent trail at pokhran
Now all cruise missiles are supposed to be guided by a GPS system which is normally an American system.
Now the theory states that at the exact time the bhramos was being test fired the US GPS system was shut off

DRDO scientists have launched an investigation into the failure of the BrahMos army version missile, especially why its GPS system couldn’t link onboard computers with hovering satellites eventually crippling its guidance system and keeping it frm achieving mission

1.Uss Kitty Hawk
India currently has only one aircraft carrier namely INS Virat….. one more is being built and named as Ins vikramaditya…well i was hoping india could get the USS kitty hawk which is soon to be decommissioned . Then india will be having three aircraft carriers
Well i hear there were strings attached to the Uss Kitty hawk carrier
US will refurbish and give the aircraft carrier to India for free provided india purchase 60 F 18 Hornet.@ US $57 million each
How ever this will not be feasible because i think any sale of more than a billion dollars will have to come under transfer of technology and i don’t think that US will give trillions of dollars of R&D for billions
Lets wait and see if the BJP can do anything about it
