A Many of you must have noticed that most of my stuff is red in color I would like to point out that RED is my favorite color.

A few quotes from Wikipedia on red color

Passion

“The color red is associated with lust, passion, love, and beauty as well. The association with love and beauty is possibly related to the use of red roses as a love symbol. Both the Greeks and the Hebrews considered red a symbol of love, as well as sacrifice.

“Red is also used as a symbol of courage and sacrifice, as in blood spilt in sacrifice or courage in the face of lethal danger.”

“Red catches people’s attention, and is often used either in a negative way to indicate danger and emergency, or in a positive way in advertising to gain more viewers, or in nature, as a ripe fruit announces its readiness with its red color.”

“In the Indian Sub-continent, red is the traditional color of bridal dresses, and is frequently represented in the media as a symbolic color for married women. The color is associated with sexuality in marriage relationships through its connection to heat and fertility. It is also the color of wealth, beauty, and the goddess Lakshmi.

Scientific

“Several studies have indicated that red carries the strongest reaction of all the colors, with the level of reaction decreasing gradually with orange, yellow, and white, respectively.

Because of this, scientists have repeatedly recommended red for warning signals, labels, and signs. Because of these recommendations, red has seen widespread use as a danger signal, in stop signs, to warn people of extreme heat or flammability, and even to signal warnings in sports such as soccer”

I tend to misplace my things a lot, having red color bag makes it easy for me to easily locate it

Man “U” uniform is red; the F1 Ferrari team color is red

The bottom line being Red is not a girly color (You are wrong Sister!!)

Gmail Vs Yahoo

Gail vs. Yahoo mail

I have been using my yahoo email id since 1999 and Gmail id from 2003

I have decided to draw a comparison between these two

Gmail had made the firsts in many field but I has not been able to keep up with the popularity it has gained

Gmail

1 GB sounds good…but the Gmail interface has become sloppy and cumbers some

Search…frankly I have never ever found what I have been searching for in Gmail…

I had to look for it manually

Address book…..Never worked for me….I have a user group where I keep getting messages from people I do not know…Gmail automatically adds them to my address book

Even if you have sent an email to one person once upon a time …you will find his email address has been saved and it comes up in the address book too

Gtalk …this was also the first from Google…voice chatting…well it was good at the beginning but I have always been having trouble with the voice quality and text options.

There is no colored text to begin with….no under lining and the worst of all no proper smiles

Also Gtalk automatically adds people from you address book., remember the feature I was talk to you about where it keeps adding people you have sent one mail in one life time..

Also I love smiles …Gmail still does not have proper smiles ….file sharing is a pain

I find it a bit weird when I get add to the right of my window pane which are taken from my email ….like find a router ……free bsd …….and stuff like that ..It kind of creeps me out that some one is reading my email…despite Google reassurance I am not satisfied

Yahoo

Yes may be they are not the firsts at all but I have been using yahoo since 1998

I just love their yahoo mail interface ,they have a pretty descent inbox storage of 1 GB ,,,,and a good messenger with a lot of plug-in option like photo share wizard and file transfer wizard…and yes their voice chatting is the best I have seen yet. It has two options of free and paid…

They do not impose your contacts in your address book

They do not have programs that read your email

They give general ads

Their messenger is the oldest and the best in the business

Their messenger is pretty good looking with lots of customization available

And they still not in BETA!!

Yes I would say that yahoo is the winner as far an email and messenger is considered.

People

Lots of people

Lots of people

People

After seeing almost all the major places in India and having spent almost 6 years of my life outside my home in a boyish environment I have come to the following conclusions

People do not change, the places change, the languages change, landscapes change, but people don’t.

I will speak more on that

In a group of friends you will always find some one who is

1. A emotional fool

2. A Traitor (Puts himself before every one)

3. Too witty

4. A Geek

5. A Screw up (Screwed from all sides)

6. A Miser (A leach to be precise)

7. Ever hungry (Always hungry no matter what)

8. A Hunk (all the girls go ga ga over)

9. A “know it all”

10. A Tanker

11. A dare devil

Know matter where you go …the gay factor follows you around; there will always be some one who knows a person who is gay.

Nothing really changes, May the proportion, but believe you me; you can always find some one you can relate to. This is a good thing as it will help you in dealing the person better. If you are willing to learn you can use these experiences to make new friends easily, as you know what that type of person likes and dislikes

But then life will always throw some thing new at you, so be prepared, my best advice to you when you move to a new place is to

à Be mum and listen to other people gossip. In this way you can have an action plan while dealing with him/her.

à Offer a cigarette, this helps to break the ice

à Host a daru party ASAP; this is the biggest ice breaker

As soon as you are done doing the above you will come to know what kind of friends you exactly want and the ones you want to avoid (you really would want to avoid those gay people, don’t you ?)

A few quotes of wisdom

“A man is know by the friends he keeps”

“Tell me who your friend is and I will tell who you are”

“Relatives you cannot chose, but friends you can, so choose wisely”

Nelon Muntz

Nelson Muntz

The Simpsons

As many of you might already know by now that I am a die hard “The Simpsons” fan, and if one asks me who is my favorite character then I would say Nelson Muntz.

Ha Ha

Ha Ha

He has one sole purpose and that is to make other people life miserable

He has a distinguished laugh Ha Ha! To make fun of other people

Sourced from Wikipedia

“Nelson is notorious for his derivation of pleasure from the misfortune of others known as schadenfreude, invariably accompanied by his trademark “Ha Ha!” laugh. Even in a life-or-death situation, Nelson seems not to react but instead laugh at the one in danger.”

“Another notable aspect of Nelson is that in various episodes, he seems to give off the impression that he is a lot smarter than he may first appear. Nelson often points out painfully obvious things to adults and kids alike that take them longer to grasp. Another example is a running joke where Nelson does a class assignment which is implied to be of high quality.”

“However, in The Simpsons Movie, when Milhouse claims to care about the environment in order to impress Lisa, Nelson stands over him with a fist raised and demands he “Say global warming is a myth.” Milhouse does so, and Nelson punches him anyway telling him “That’s for selling out your beliefs!””

“Nelson: He who Ha Ha’s the last, Ha Ha’s the best”

There are some things you learn from other sources, well in my case and for some of my friends case too we have implemented three thing in our life from The Simpson’s

1.“Ha Ha” from Nelson

2.“Stupid (what ever)” from Homer

3. “Do’oh” from Homer

Nelson we love you.!!!

LCA Tejas

Tejas (LCA)

The Namesake

Well I am very hopeful to see my name sake in action; though it is 25 years old on the drawing board, but I do hope to see it inducted in the Indian air force by the time I am 25, No scarsicm intended

The delays caused were only because of political and financial reason. Yes, the KAVERI engine has failed its altitude tests but come on cut some slack for DRDO, this is the first time they are into making a jet engine, more over once the engine is done it will be used to power many other projects like the atv and arjun

Also the project ‘Tejas’ will be a 4th generation aircraft which means it is in the league of Chengdu J-10 , Dassault Mirage 2000 , F-16 Fighting Falcon , IAI Lavi , JAS 39 Gripen , JF-17/FC-1

Just because the original plan was 25 years old does not mean that the technology inside is 25 years old too, The plan was kept on upgraded to include the latest cutting edge technology in it.

I will list out the specification of it

  • 1 × 23 mm GSh-23 cannon internally mounted twin-barrel cannon with 220 rounds of ammunition.
  • Eight external stations: three hardpoints under each wing, one fuselage centreline hardpoint, and one station beneath the port-side intake trunk for a pod (FLIR, IRST, laser designator, or reconnaissance).
  • Maximum external payload: >4000 kg.

Other equipment

  • Drop tanks

Any how as I said that I am very hopeful of seeing flying as a success story, the experience gained from Tejas will pave way for making even better aircrafts and may be a black bird sort of thing……Wishful thinking ??? I don’t think do.

Cheers DRDO !!!!!!
